This same process is done to make thin stoneveneerscorners, which allows them to look like full bed depth dimensional stone on the edge of walls.

Natural stone thinveneerconsists of 1-1 1/2 inches of the face of a building stone that has been sawn off. Stone thinveneercan be adhered to framed or block walls that lack the weight capacity for full-thickness stone.
